An old neighbour of mine had a herd of cattle that spent more time out of his pasture than in.

Most of the time they got fat on the hay fields, crops and sometimes lawns of neighbouring farms

and ranches. An old rancher started to refer to them as “show cows.”

When asked why they were called this, he simply stated, “Because they show up everywhere.”
