This began as an art assignment - one of the fastest paintings I have done so far,

painted outdoors with a live model.  You have to be quick as horses won’t stand still

for very long.  I had intended to continue work on it back in the studio,

but everyone who looked at it said “Leave it alone”.

  When I took a second look, I began to feel the sense of  distance,

and questions come to mind.  I can imagine what that horse sees and hears and smells on the wind.  

I'll let you figure out why I named it "Salvador's Horse".
