Horses are social and emotional creatures – they’ll frequently "buddy-up" when out on the trail.

Avanti has had his nose on the trail for miles, tracking his buddy.

As we topped this ridge, he spotted him.  He called out and paused one breathless,

silent, immobile moment for an answer.  You can tell by his ears I only have half his attention.

The question now is - how are we getting off that ridge – his way or mine?
